Nomads running a training day up at Croft Farm pond, nr Tewkesbury. Not
having attended a BNWC event for several months, & with the thought of
dozens of novices needed advice I headed North, despite the practically
non-existant wind forecast.
Well, there were no novices turned-up (actually, there were 2: one didn't
sail, the other was being attended to by another Nomad), so it was out with
the fat-arsed AHD77 + 9.4m sail for a bit of a pumpathon. As I was rigging,
I discovered my carbon boom has a broken front end. Poo! Expensive poo.
Derek kindly lent me a suitable one.
Pretty much a waste of time, Got planing a couple of times as the odd gust
came trhough but not v exciting.
At one point, Ian suggested we all sails without fins - just for the
experience. So I switched to my 100l with a 6.2m sail & spent the next 30
mins or so trying not to go sideways. An interesting experience that
everyone should try for themselves.
Ho Hum.
